Yes, Total Secure Shredding, Inc. is fully licensed, bonded and insured.
The standard size file box is about the size of a “Xerox” copy paper box. The actual measurements of a standard size file box are 10”x12”x15”. These boxes can typically hold anywhere from 25 to 30 pounds of paper.
If you don’t have standard size file boxes – no problem. We will provide a comparable estimate based on the size and type of container your documents are in.
There is no need to remove any staples, paper clips, rubber bands or binder clips. Our shredders can shred through these items plus a lot more.
However, just because we can shred it doesn't mean we will. All our shredded paper is 100% recycled. Consequently, we try to sort and eliminate as much foreign materials as possible before shredding. It’s much easier to get this stuff out before shredding than after! These foreign materials include: x-rays, three ring binders, cardboard, and other miscellaneous plastics, metals, and non-paper items.
Whether we shred on-site, off-site, or you drop your documents off at our facility, all shredding activities are finalized by providing the customer a Certificate of Destruction. In the case of off-site shredding, your Certificate of Destruction will be sent out to you in the mail, via fax, or email.
We will shred just about anything including CD’s, VHS tapes, Diskettes, and X-rays. However, since we recycle as much as we can, we don’t shred these along with regular paper documents since these items ruin our ability to recycle the shredded paper. We will bring these items back to our facility for separate shredding and disposal.
All our paper is 100% recycled. We also recycle any cardboard boxes we receive – they just get recycled separately from the shredded paper.
Our prices change significantly according to the volume of paper that needs to be shredded and the type of service requested. We do try to post some starting prices throughout our website. Currently our pricing is contained in 6 pages of charts! Too much to post on the website.
Currently, Mobile (on-site) and Pickup (off-site) paper shredding services have a 10 standard size file box minimum. There is no minimum for drop-off.
You can always watch your documents get shredded at Total Secure Shredding. Our new state of the art shredding trucks contain closed circuit television cameras so you can actually watch your documents go into the shredding blades – VERY COOL!
At our facility, we always invite our customers to come back to the viewing window to watch the document shredding take place.
If you don’t feel like watching, that’s no problem. Just leave us your address and we will send you your Certificate of Destruction in the mail.
One last thing, you are definitely not alone in wanting to watch your documents get shredded. Approximately 90% of our drop-off customers do stick around to watch everything get shredded.
We can typically be out in one to two business days depending on how booked we are for the week. We make it a point to be in most parts of San Diego at least one time per week. In order to keep our prices this affordable, we have to put your shredding appointment on the same route as your neighbors. It is always better to book an appointment sooner rather than later in order to get a desired time slot.
We definitely can make arrangements for weekend and holiday shredding. Significant additional fees will be charged for weekend and holiday paper shredding services – we do have to pay our drivers overtime!
We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Checks, and Cash (which still works for us). If you provide a valid credit card up front, we would be happy to set up a payment plan for large jobs.
Our shredding procedures and equipment make us fully HIPAA and FACTA complaint.
We charge based on standard size file boxes. These boxes measure 10”x12”x15” and hold approximately 25-30 pounds of paper. If you don’t have boxes don’t worry. We will prorate your containers and charge based at a comparable rate. If you are not sure, please give us a call and we will happily send out a Security Consultant to evaluate your shredding requirement and provide an immediate personalized quote at no additional charge.
Total Secure Shredding does not add any other fees or surcharges. You never have to worry about any surprises with your quoted price.
We currently have a level 3 security cross-cute paper shredder available in one of our shredding trucks. The sizes of the shreds are much smaller than the industry standard. The drawback of the cross-cut paper shredder is that it shreds at a much slower rate – the smaller the size the longer it takes to shred. The longer it takes to shred – the more we have to charge per box.
Prior to employment, all Total Secure Shredding employees go through a thorough back ground check that includes: Credit Check, Criminal Check, DMV Record Check, and a Drug Screening. 50% of all drivers and employees who handle documents are randomly drug screened and back ground checked each year.
We provide reoccurring paper shredding and document destruction services ranging from once every week to once every month. Our monthly service includes the use of the secure executive console or 65 gal cart.
